A 5 segundos truque para Persona 5 The Phantom X

The characters from Persona 5 / Royal are a special case. They are actual Persona users but have an unknown connection to the protagonist's cognition and appear as cognitions.

On his way home from school, Nagisa encounters a talking owl, Lufel. While listening to Lufel, a delivery biker attempts to ram into Nagisa, but Nagisa accidentally brings himself and Lufel to the Metaverse, a supernatural realm representing the unconscious desires of humanity.

Like Persona 5, the dungeon crawling portion takes place in the Metaverse, a realm created from subconscious desires that consists of Mementos and Palaces.

The trio work together as the Phantom Thieves, promising to steal the treasures out of six other palaces. Shun Kano, a fellow Kokatsu Academy student, joins the Phantom Thieves to change the heart of Hiromu Miyazawa, a dishonest food critic who uses his platform to acquire restaurants and profit through the use of cheaper ingredients.

The game begins in a similar vein to how Persona 5 begins, midway through the infiltration at Niijima's Palace. However, when Joker begins to make his escape, a hooded intruder intervenes and attacks him.

Lufel points out to Nagisa a former baseball player, Takeyuki Kiuchi, who intentionally rams into women in the subway as a means of attaining his misogynistic desires, and says that in order to stop him, they must enter Kiuchi's palace (a baseball stadium) within the Metaverse and steal his treasure, an object which is the source of warped desires.

Daisoujou wearing a mask and his skeletal body has been changed to have a more flesh-like appearance.

Nagisa and Lufel enter Kiuchi's palace and discover that Motoha also entered the palace, who awakens to her Persona after being verbally berated by a Shadow form of Kiuchi. While traversing through Kiuchi's palace, they discover that Motoha hitting a slider thrown by a Kiuchi, along with a scandal resulting from Kiuchi's purchasing of an escort, forced him off of the baseball team and into an office job, leading to his misogynistic desires.

Many of these characters also serve as confidants and/or have side quests that the protagonist can do.

Much of the gameplay takes direct reference from Persona 5, where the protagonist will live a dual life between spending time in the real world, as well as roaming and fighting in the Metaverse. The game does not follow a calendar system; the protagonist's free time in the city is only limited by a special currency taking the form of hourglasses.

After the scene ends, it is revealed that it was just a nightmare that the protagonist had. After waking up from the dream, he makes his way to school and a mysterious owl proceeds to follow him.

In the Japanese demo shown at Tokyo Game Show 2024, the cutscenes were altered to show blood in the protagonist's awakening much like how the awakening in Persona 5 were handled.

After Miyu ran away from home, they manage to locate where she is and hire a man to sabotage her performance, later even forcibly canceling the street performer event that Miyu wants to perform at because they don't support Miyu's dream.

During class, the protagonist struggles to stay awake and drifts off. Once he awakens, he finds himself within the Velvet Room, and is welcomed in by Igor and Merope.

P5X altered the design of some Personas Persona 5 The Phantom X from the base Persona 5 to be less sexual due to censorship regulations in China (however, other versions of the game feature the uncensored designs, with some exceptions such as the Riders having metallic arms):
